DEAR CAPTAIN RYAN.—We desire to take this opportunity of publicly expressing our thanks to you for, and the kind sense of, the treatment which we have experienced during our voyage in your ship Aurora from Calcutta. We would express our acknowledgements in particular for the liberality which marked the arrangements of the cuddy, notwithstanding the unexpected length of the voyage, as well as for the excellence of the table, and for the prompt and ready attention with which our requests and suggestions were invariably met. With every good wish for your success in your profession, and trusting that all your future voyages may prove as pleasant to you, as the past one has been to us.
