Bohemian 4th February, Liverpool to Portland (Borland) Bohemian had a long stormy passage, and as she approached Portland, she passed the lighthouse on Cape Elizabeth in fog, and ran across a rocky shoal, tearing a large hole. Captain Borland tried to beach her, but she sank 200 yards from shore. While abandoning ship, one lifeboat capsized with the loss of twenty Irish emigrants lives.

Neckar 17th May, Hamburg (Meidam) [MG] two births and seven deaths in passage - The majority of Neckar passengers, (and also some Swedes and Norwegians) were on board the emigrant train which crashed through an open drawbridge at Beloeil (Richelieu River) on June 29th with the loss of about one hundred lives. The Montreal Gazette published the inquest.
