ship Caroline |
Arrived from Southampton on the 24th of
April with 358 immigrants. There were six births and
thirteen deaths at sea. The ship was commanded by Mr.
Ramsay Walker, and Mr. John M. Burke was the surgeon-superintendent.
The general management on board was good, though it was
found necessary to withhold the gratuity of the chief
mate, as his conduct was far from satisfactory. The immigrants
by this ship appeared to have been well selected. |
