Return to German Emigrants to South Australia

brig Susanne, 180 tons, Commander S.M. Sinn, from Hamburg 15th August 1864, arrived at Port Adelaide 4th December 1864

The South Australian Advertiser, Monday 05 December 1864, p. 2

Sunday, December 04. —Susanne, brig, 189 tons, S. M. Sinn, master, from the Hamburg, August 15, B. Amsberg and Co. Town and S. Mocatta, Port, agents.
Passengers:— Forty-nine, in the steerage.

The Susanne, from Hamburg, brings 49 passengers and the usual description of cargo, particulars of which will be given when she enters inwards at the Custom House. During the passage nothing of importance occurred.

An index from the State Library South Australia (SLSA) shows that 50 German migrants should have been on the Susanne for Port Adelaide, I have been able to find 50 as listed below — Regards Robert.

note.— There are very few surviving original lists of German passengers, so the data below has been compiled from a variety of sources, such as contemporary newspaper(s), internet sources, input from descendants and the South Australian Heraldry Genealogy society, (SAGHS).
I know the list is incomplete and may contain errors, so any feedback with additions or corrections, will be most appreciated. Please contact me using the link above. Regards Robert, Adelaide
