The Fleets

Furness, Withy & Co. / British Maritime Trust

In 1890 Robert Stoker, one of the partners in Furness, Withy & Co. was sent to London to open an office there which he opened as Christopher Furness & Co. In 1897 the company became known as British Maritime Trust Ltd and in 1907 the fleet was amalgamated into Furness, Withy & Co.
