The Fleets

Hamburg Brasilianische Packetschiffahrt Gesellschaft / Hamburg Brazilian S.N. Co.

Formed in Hamburg in 1856 to run between Hamburg and Southampton, Lisbon, Pernambuco, Bahia and Rio de Janeiro. The service opened in December 1856 and operated two ships. A third ship was built in 1857 but never sailed for the company. It was not found to be financially viable and their ships were sold to Hamburg America Line in 1858.

Many thanks to Ted Finch for his assistance in collecting this data. The following list was extracted from various sources. This is not an all inclusive list but should only be used as a guide. If you would like to know more about a vessel, visit the Ship Descriptions (onsite) or Immigrant Ship web site.
