The Fleets

North Atlantic Steam Navigation Co.

A short lived company formed in 1857 to operate services between Liverpool, St John's NF, Halifax and Portland. They made only eight voyages and suspended operations in December 1857 following a severe slump.

Circassian 1857 three round voyages then became an Indian Mutiny transport, 1858 chartered to Galway Line, 1862 captured by US Navy while blockade running. 1,387
General Williams 1857 chartered for one round voyage, 1858 sold to Greek & Oriental Co. 1,152
Khersonese 1856 1857 purchased from Liverpool, Newfoundland & Halifax S.N. Co, two round voyages then Indian Mutiny transport, 1863 sold to George Duncan & Co. 1,409
