The Fleets

Pinillos Line

This Spanish company was formed in 1884 and initally sailed between Barcelona and the West Indies and U.S Gulf ports. Services to the Philippines started in 1895, but this only lasted until 1898 when the Philippines gained independence from Spain. In 1908 a regular passenger service was started to the River Plate and a few voyages to New York, Havana and Galveston in 1914-1915. The company suffered three ship disasters between 1916 and 1919 and never recovered from these losses. Some South America voyages continued until 1925 when their remaining ships were sold to Compania Oceanica, Barcelona.

Many thanks to Ted Finch for his assistance in collecting this data. The following list was extracted from various sources. This is not an all inclusive list but should only be used as a guide. If you would like to know more about a vessel, visit the Ship Descriptions (onsite) or Immigrant Ship web site.
