The Fleets Transatlantic Steam Ship Company This was a subsidiary of the City of Dublin SS Co. and was formed in 1838 after the parent company's ROYAL WILLIAM made a round voyage between Liverpool and New York. The company only owned the one ship LIVERPOOL and made seven Liverpool - New York voyages incurring considerable financial losses. In 1840 the company was disbanded and their ship sold to P & O Line. An unfinished consort UNITED STATES was also sold to P&O and renamed ORIENTAL. Route: Liverpool - Cork - New York. Fleet:
