This Armstrong family was from Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim, Ireland. Manorhamilton is quite close to Sligo, so it is a fair guess that they arrived at Quebec on July 09, aboard tbe brig James, Captain Johnston, which departed Sligo on the 30th of May with 130 settlers. Simon was widowed, either before leaving Ireland, or while at sea. The family settled in Kent and Simcoe counties, Ontario.
