Full Heading Titles showing abbreviations in bold:
Ticket Number No. | Passengers Names Names | Cabin C

F | Amount Paid (in £/s/d) P | Remarks Remarks
note: the notation of Waterloo "running
with the Lady
of the Lake" refers to the Waterloo being
ordered to run "head-to-head" with the Lady of the
Lake, in a "fare-war," matching
fare
with fare ; cabin & steerage fares
from Quebec to
Montreal
greatly
reduced, with
steerage
fare dropping as low as sixpence (the regular steerage fare was ten shillings
which is 20 times greater than sixpence). The Lady of the Lake belonged
to a competitor, James Greenfield. ... last trip steerage fare dropped
even lower, to two pence [tuppence] . . . this trip bounced back up
to two shillings and sixpence. ... no explanation for lack of "Amount
Paid" entry for steerage numbers 1 to 112
