(ship) Mary Ann sailed from Londonderry June 12th 1856 / arr. St. John, N.B. July/Aug 1856
Port of Londonderry - A List of the passengers per "ship" Mary Ann, 405 tons per Register. John Hattrick, Master, bound for St. John, New Brunswick. (J & J Cooke ship)

This passenger list shows the accounting of the voyage. Some passengers had booked as early as 1855, with "Earnest Money" (deposit) being paid as early as May 1st 1856, and the balance paid before clearance of the vessel, for sailing. The passages have been booked through several Agents. The total cost of Steerage fares for 141 adults and 17 children, amounted to 597.17.5 with commission to Agents (excepting Carvill), amounting to 20.11.10. There were also two Cabin Passengers. There are Group Numbers (Gp#) which indicate who were traveling, or, ticketed together. The names of eight persons have been struck-through, and did not sail on this voyage, however one individual, original Gp# 2, appears to have emigrated earlier. Some passengers have an "s" notation, possibly to indicate known "single" status, so an S has been placed in the No. field beside their record.
note: "31 persons on the orders of W.& G. Carvill, equal to 27 adults @ 4.10.0 Cy. [currency] 130.10.0 less commission 27.3.9 = sterling 103.10.0" Agent Carvill's passengers are No.s 128-145, 147-149 & 151-160
