Miscellaneous Shipping

The BURLINGTON. from London and Plymonth, arrived on Tuesday night, after a voyage tendered excessively disagreeable by the continuation of bad weather. From the period of leaving Plymouth she has scarcely had six days consequently of favourable winds, and hence her protracted passage, though she is said to be a good sailer ; but at present, her spars are crippled, figurehead knocked away, and cutwater started. Indeed, throughout she bears evidence of the conflict with the storm. Some idea may be formed when it is recorded on the surgeon's log that 60 days of the trip have been made with hatches battened down, and even the water in the 'tween-decks has been Ankle deep. She was fortunate in reaching here on Tuesday, for the fuel on board was so far expended that the condenser had been stopped for several days prior to arrival ; and as she is of light draught of water she is expected to moor in harbour immediately she has been inspected by Dr. Duncan.
