This family was from county Fermanagh in Northern Ireland, and initially lived in Grenville county near Kemptville, Ontario with Sarah's brother, John Johnston. They most likely arrived at Quebec on June 19th aboard the bark Harrisons, Captain Young, which departed Londonderry May 5th, with 450 settlers. Baby Hugh was barely two years old, which explains why he was carried at no charge, so is not included with the number of children 12 and under. The identity of the second adult woman travelling with the family, is unknown.
